Tech Support 226-0301*

This information is targeted toward existing clients who set up their systems for Internet access using specific DNS Server addresses. Clients who set up their systems using the Easy Internetô CD-ROM do not need to change their settings.

Step 1: Locate the Dial-Up Networking Folder

Before beginning, minimize any running applications. Locate the My Computer Icon on your Desktop.

Double-Click the icon to open the My Computer window. Once open, locate the Dial-Up Networking icon and Double-Click it.

This will open the Dial-Up Networking folder.

*NOTE: The icons displayed in this folder may not match the image above depending on your system configuration. There should be an Icon Titled AWWWsome Net Services or AWWWsome. If not, check each connection until you find one that dials one of the following numbers. 226-0303, 226-9905, or 243-5065.

Step 2: Open the Dial-Up Networking Properties Dialog

Left-Click once on the icon for AWWWsome Net Services that you located in step 1 to select it. (If a connection dialog appears, close it by using the X in the upper right hand corner of the window, and continue.)

Right-Click (Click once with the RIGHT mouse button) on the AWWWsome Net Services Icon. This should pop-up the following menu:

Left-Click once on the Properties menu item.

Step 3: Adjusting the Dial-Up Settings

The Dial-Up Networking properties dialog window will appear. Select Server Types from the tab-strip at the top of the dialog window. The Settings in your window should look nearly identical to the ones shown below. Unless a member of the AWWWsome Technical Support staff has instructed you to set them otherwise, it is best to assure that your settings mirror the ones shown below.

Locate the TCP/IP Settings button near the bottom of the dialog window and click it once to open the TCP/IP settings dialog window.

Left-Click once on the circle in front of Server assigned name server addresses. Verify that the rest of your settings match those shown above.

Click OK to close the TCP/IP Settings window.

Click OK to close the Dial-Up Properties window.

Close the Dial-Up Networking folder.

Verify that everything went smoothly by connecting to AWWWsome as you normally do. If you are able to navigate the World Wide Web and check your email, the changes have been made correctly.

If you cannot browse web sites or receive your mail, begin at step one and verify all settings again before calling AWWWsome Technical Support.
