AWWWsome Net Services Web Page FTP Procedure Windows Version (Please let us know if you need the Mac version) Use this procedure to move HTML and graphics files to and from the AWWWsome Web Server. If instructions seem confusing or unclear, please email us at support@awwwsome.com. Establish your Internet connection, and run your FTP (File Transfer Protocol, like Cute FTP) program. For windows users we recommend you use CuteFTP (Shareware, download from http://www.cuteftp.com) (Note: The remainder of the instructions in this procedure is geared towards people using CuteFTP. If you are using a different FTP client, the actual commands may be different, but the concepts are still valid,) Connect to the AWWWsome Web Server. If you have not already configured AWWWsome into the FTP Site Manager, click the Add Site button and enter the following: Site Label: AWWWsome Web Server Host Address: 206.155.34.8 Userid: Your AWWWsome userid Password: Your AWWWsome password Login Type: Normal Transfer Type: Auto Detect Initial Remote Directory: WebStar/dir (where dir is the name of your directory on AWWWsome Web Server. Initial Local Directory: The name of the directory where you keep HTML file on Your Computer. (Leave everything else as is.) If AWWWsome is configured into the FTP Site Manager, double click AWWWsome. As you connect, you are presented with a Login Message window. If you connection is successful, click OK to close the message window. The window at the bottom-Left lists the files in your local directory, and the window at the bottom-Right list your files on the AWWWsome Web Server. Your login authorizes you to create sub-directories if necessary. Copy your file. To copy a file from your computer to the Webserver, locate the filename in the bottom-Left window, and double-click it. To copy from the Webserver to your computer, locate the filename in the bottom-Right window, and double click it. Our server is configured to use index.htm as the default homepage, so please name your home (main) page index.htm Updating Problems - If you find your WebPage will not update when you upload it, you should delete the old file on the webserver.
